Traditional Jazz Society of Oregon

Dedicated to the perpetuation of America's Dixieland Jazz

The Traditional Jazz Society of Oregon (TJSO) is committed to preserving and perpetuating America's own music: Traditional Jazz*. To this end, TJSO holds monthly jazz sessions at Eugene’s Eagles Lodge on the  first Sunday of every month from October through June.

Each session features a different, special guest band. On alternate sets, jammers are invited to sign in and be brought up to the stage to do a turn with their fellow Traditional Jazz musicians.

 * "Traditional jazz" is defined as the various styles of New Orleans jazz and their outgrowths, encompassing styles sometimes called dixieland, classic jazz, hot jazz, Chicago style, San Francisco style, etc.
